Overview
Vishmi Helaratne is a Te- Whanganui-a-Tara-based artist who explores social practices, hospitality, multiculturalism, sensory languages, and storytelling. Helaratne aims to ruminate on particular narratives that question dual identities and other worlds through community and connection-based experience. They graduated with a BFA from the College of Art and Design at the University Of New South Wales, Australia (2018) and has recently exhibited at Laree Payne Gallery, New Zelaand (2023), Page Galleries, New Zealand (2021) and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Australia (2019 ) and UNSW galleries (2019).
